It have a breath timer. Now, being technology, this looks like a loading circle (or the 'circle of death' to anyone trying to submit a document last minute). Since the little light timer circle is more for breath pacing and not about the app refusing to load, I found it fun and soothing when combined with the simple breath instructions. It is also a pleasant transition into the app itself, where breath is a major grounding force for many of these practices.
The app itself is quite streamlined, and organizes its menus from videos, courses, to teachers in a way that makes for less visual clutter. It lessens the amount of 'choice paralysis' (frozen by too many options) that some apps (perhaps) unintentionally present to the user.
The opening page greets you, followed by a timer for the paid subscription, a 'For You' section, 'Ongoing course' for any course you are currently taking part in, the Daily Meditation, Featured content, "Explore Premium" button, Teachers, Opportunities, Categories, Courses, and Applied Mindfulness. The bottom of the screen is a bar that can direct you to other specific feature pages. 'Meditate' which is the home page, followed by 'Favorites', 'Sleep', 'Discover', and 'Profile'.
The 'Profile' section of the app offers you variety in tracking your data if you wish to follow your usage of the app like a habit tracker. Offering you data in the categories of days done, total sessions completed, total minutes spent in mindfulness sessions, and the courses taken. Stats can also be viewed through the week, month, year, or all time.
