Winning Formula: When you go first, aim to set up a double threat—a position where you have two potential winning moves. Your opponent can only block one, guaranteeing your victory on the next turn.

🚫 Move Second, Prevent the Double Threat

Defensive Play: If you move second, your primary objective is to block your opponent's attempts to create a double threat. If you succeed, the game will likely end in a draw, unless your opponent makes a mistake.

Winning as the First Player (X)

Although there are nine squares on the board, the strategic starting points can be simplified into three categories:

    Side

    Center

    Corner

The winning strategy of setting up a double threat can be achieved from any of these starting moves.

1. Start on the Side

Strategic Advantage: If you start on the side, you can force a win if your opponent (O) responds with four of the eight possible moves. If O plays in a near side or far corner, you’re guaranteed to win.

Example Play:

    Initial Move: X on the side.

    Opponent's Response: O on a near side (in red).

    Follow-up: X forces O to block (in blue).

    Winning Move: X sets up a double threat by playing a corner (in green), threatening both the diagonal and the bottom row.

2. Start in the Center
