Tower Run is a game that mixes together a bunch of ideas to make a really interesting hypercasual experience. It might seem easy at first glance, but there’s actually a lot going on here and you might need some help. Help like these hints, tips and tricks.

We’ve gotten pretty deep into the game and think we’ve discovered most of its secrets. And now we’re sharing them with you, our discerning reader. Don’t say we’re not good to you. Follow this guide and you’ll find that your towers are amongst the tallest in the world.

Timing is Everything

Tower Run is all about getting your timing spot on. Not just when you’re trying to build a tower, but on the levels where you’re running on your own. Making sure you’re hitting jump at just the right time is going to ensure your success.

It’s pretty easy to jump at the right time when you’re building a tower – just look at the circles on the path. Different circles demand different levels of precision – some you just need to hit when you’re on them. Others, however, will penalise you if you don’t hit them right in the centre.

Look at the targets you’re aiming for and adjust your taps accordingly.

Lightning Bolts

On some levels you’ll see lightning bolts as well as coins. These shoot you forwards and let you smash into some obstacles. They’re a blessing and a curse, especially the first time you pick one up and you’re not entirely sure what they do.

Sometimes it’s worth ignoring them all together. They’ll speed you up, but speed is rarely of the essence in Tower Run. If you do fancy grabbing one, then make sure you’re prepared because you might end up missing out on new additions to your tower and that could be detrimental in the long run.

Coins

The coins you collect in the game don’t actually do anything. You should consider them your score rather than a currency. You can’t spend them on extra people for your tower or new costumes, although that might change in future updates.

With that in mind, you shouldn’t risk too much to try and grab them all. By all means pick them up as you run, but don’t take on tricky jumps just to try and get more – it really isn’t worth it.

Extra People

You can add more people to your starting tower by watching an advert at the start of your run. We wouldn’t recommend doing this all the time, because, well, adverts can be pretty annoying.

However, if you’re stuck on a level and don’t seem to be able to get past it, it’s a good idea to give yourself a boost to stave off frustration. More often than not you’ll be able to get to the end of a level with the extra help.
