Most Popular FAQs

What warranty coverage do I have on my Toyota vehicle?

The factory coverage warranty period begins on the vehicle’s in-service date, which is the first date the vehicle is either delivered to the original purchaser, lessor, or used as a company car or demonstration vehicle.

   - Basic Coverage is 36 months/36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the date of first use and covers all components other than normal wear and maintenance items. This warranty covers repairs and adjustments needed to correct defects in materials or workmanship or any part supplied by Toyota, subject to exceptions.

   - Powertrain Coverage is 60 months/60,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the date of first use and includes engine, transmission/transaxle, front-wheel-drive system and rear-wheel drive system.

   - Rust-Through Coverage is 60 months/unlimited miles, from the date of first use regardless of mileage and covers corrosion perforation of sheet metal.

   - Emissions Coverage varies under Federal and California regulations. Refer to your Warranty and Maintenance Guide booklet for complete details.

Why isn’t my vehicle starting with the Toyota app?

To perform a Remote Start command using the Remote Connect feature within Toyota app, please follow these pre-conditions:

   - The doors should be locked.

   - The trunk or hood should be closed.

   - The security alarm is not going off.

   - A Remote Start operation should not already be in progress.

   - The brake pedal is not depressed.

   -  The vehicle is parked.

   - The "low fuel" light is not on.

   - The Smart Key should not be inside the vehicle.

   - The vehicle must have been driven within the last 7 days.

   - The vehicle must be in an open area with good network signal (e.g. not in underground parking).

Only 2 full 10-minute remote start cycles can be done in a row from the app before having to manually start the vehicle.

Additional Troubleshooting Steps:

   1. Get into the vehicle and manually start it.

   2. Let the vehicle run for a few seconds and then turn the vehicle off.

   3. Exit the vehicle and lock the doors using the key fob.

   4. Step at least 20 feet or more away from the vehicle.

   5. Login to the Toyota app, perform a vehicle status check, and refresh the vehicle status.

   6. Retry the Remote Start on the Toyota app again.

Once the vehicle is running, can I use any of the other Toyota Remote Connect features in the Toyota app?

The vehicle will only process a Remote Stop request if you started the vehicle using the Toyota app. If the vehicle was started using the in-vehicle push "Start" button, you must turn off the vehicle OFF using the push "Start" button from inside the vehicle.

My Toyota app doesn't work after the update. I can't use any apps or navigation on my car's system. Even Alexa feature is gone. Bluetooth works fine but the app won't connect to the car. The service technician said there's no support for Android yet.

So there's this app, right? And it's just terrible. Like, every time they update it, it just decides not to work anymore. And then you have to keep reconnecting it all the time. Plus, out of nowhere, it forgets your iHeartRadio account details and I just can't seem to figure out how to fix it. It's so annoying! And just so you know, I'm not clueless or anything, I actually have a degree in IT and work as a systems admin, so I know my way around tech stuff.

The finger print recognition feature works smoothly and is really cool. I also like the command start and driver score features. So far, I haven't encountered any issues.

The app is not good at all. It lets me start my car remotely, but it's so slow to open. I'll try the trial, but then I might switch to a different remote starter kit. I'm not going to pay for this one. Also, I can't schedule service appointments because there are no available times. Except for starting the car remotely, the app is only useful for checking the mileage and gas level.

The app is not working well when I use it to play iHeartRadio. Most of the time, I get an error message saying "communication unsuccessful" when I try to change the song. The Entune app was better, even though it had some problems. I don't understand why Toyota stopped supporting it and pushed this app on us. I'm thinking about replacing the stock head unit with a different one.

Bought a brand new 2021 RAV4. The app worked fine at the dealership but now I need it to check my tire pressure after running over a wooden stake. When I login, the app shows my car briefly then gives an error. Toyota, please fix the bugs in the app. People rely on it.
