TP-Link Tether - Control & monitor routers

No problems with the app for me. I really appreciate the parental controls, they help manage my son's screen time. The app glitches occasionally. All my devices connect well to it. I can use the app from different places outside home, like work or while traveling. It's been a crucial tool for many years. Despite reading negative reviews, I might be one of the fortunate users.

The new Archer series is fantastic and full of great features. It just needs to make sure it always supports working with the two handy travel routers. These small routers can operate in WISP mode, which is extremely helpful when you're traveling, especially if you want to use a Chromecast at a hotel. The app should be designed to simplify the setup process even more than using the device's browser page. Even my TP Link nano 2.4 gHz router works perfectly for streaming Oculus Quest VR content to the Chromecast while staying at a hotel or connecting to other Wi-Fi networks.

The app has improved a lot. It's very powerful and competes with the Linksys app for managing mobile network connections. It's better than the Draytek app, but not as detailed. However, it's still more than good enough. I work as a sys admin.

The app is really annoying and has a lot of problems. It can see devices at times, then suddenly can't, but starts seeing them again after I restart the app. It's not about distance, as all the devices are nearby. Sometimes it turns on the 5GHz channel even though I chose to skip setting it up. It works worse with range extenders. Funny enough, it works fine with my mom's old 305 model, but keeps having issues with the newer 505X.

Don't get this router/app if you want to control your family's online activities. It doesn't work well. The scheduling and block/allow lists are not reliable. I often need to deactivate monitoring during permitted hours and then reactivate it, which is a hassle and doesn't filter content effectively. Avoid purchasing TP-Link or Tether.

This app is user-friendly with a neat design. I downloaded it to manage my router and range extender for Onemesh capability. Setting it up was a breeze. It offers cloud capabilities, allowing remote monitoring without physical presence or wireless connection. There are various tools and settings to enhance WiFi performance and speed. Overall, I have no complaints. Great job, Tp-link!

The app used to let you do a lot of cool stuff with the router, like assigning IP addresses and managing ports or VPN. But now, after the latest update, those features are gone. All you can do is change your Wi-Fi password or check if you're connected to the internet. The app is pretty much useless now. It's frustrating that they removed functions that were working perfectly fine before.
