The Tale of the Trojan War

The Trojan War is a renowned conflict in Greek mythology that lasted a decade without resolution. The war was instigated by King Menelaus of Sparta when his wife, Queen Helen, widely regarded as the world's most beautiful woman, was abducted by Paris, the prince of Troy.

Conquering Troy proved to be a formidable challenge, requiring the movement of armies across mountains, seas, and deserts. Moreover, the legendary fortified city was constructed by the hands of two gods, Apollo and Poseidon, and defended by a skilled army led by the adept general Hector, who was Paris's brother.

After ten years of warfare, the Greeks were unable to capture Troy through direct assault. Therefore, they resorted to Odyssey's plan to build a wooden horse (the Trojan Horse) and pretended to retreat, leaving behind one individual. This person was tasked with tricking the Trojans into believing that the horse was a gift from the Greeks to atone for the damaged statue of Athena. In truth, the horse concealed a contingent of soldiers within. Once the Trojans celebrated their 'victory' with feasting, the Greek soldiers hidden inside emerged and opened the city gates. The Greeks ultimately triumphed, leading to the total defeat of their adversaries.
