"Learnt to Read, Save the Animals" is a developmental game - an ABC book and preschool reading instruction based on syllables and letters in Russian and Ukrainian languages. School readiness for children 3-4 years old and older. Learn letters, syllables, and how to read through an engaging educational game for preschoolers aged 3 to 7.
The evil Snow Queen froze the magical alphabet letters, and the animals ended up in icy captivity. Only your clever little one can save them by learning the alphabet letters and forming words - the names of the animals. By assembling words from ABC letters, the child hears the sound of each alphabet letter, allowing them to subconsciously memorize the letters and their sounds. And after your smart little rescuer saves all the animals, a quiz awaits the bright youngster, where the preschooler can reinforce their knowledge of letters and reading skills.
After completing the quiz, a joyful bunny will dance a lively dance to encourage the child to continue their fun preschool reading education!
METHOD
The app uses an effective phonics reading method similar to the "Zaitsev cubes" technique and Montessori principles, namely:
WE DON'T NEED THE ALPHABET AND PRIMER. AND WE DON'T NEED TO KNOW THE ALPHABET!
To learn to read, it's not necessary for the child to know the names of the letters. The common phenomenon is when a parent buys an ABC book or primer for kids, the child learns the letters, maybe even memorizes the alphabet but struggles to read. Words don't stick for them.
Renowned educator Nikolai Zaitsev claims - ABC books are harmful for young ones! In ABC books and primers, a picture is given for each alphabet letter: A - stork, B - hippopotamus, etc. When we learn to read using the alphabet, the child remembers the letter and the picture, but how to explain to them later that zebra - stork - lizard - heron, flashing in their mind, should form the word "hare"? How to teach a child to read?
Instead, in the app "Learn to Read - Save the Animals," the child learns the "sound" of the letters rather than their alphabetical names, allowing them to easily assemble words from these sounds.
The game features 2 reading instruction modes:
1.Learning to read by letters - ideal for a child to learn letters and understand reading basics. It is recommended to start with this mode of instruction - it is very effective for letter memorization and teaching reading of short words.
2.Learning to read by syllables - for children who already know the letters. The "syllables" method akin to the "Zaitsev cubes" understands "syllables" - i.e., the combination of a consonant and a vowel letter: for example, ko-ro-va (cow), ko-sh-ka (cat). It's much easier for a child to learn to read by these short syllables than complex "school" syllables. The simpler it is to learn to read - the more effective it is!
WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL LEARN:
• Quickly and joyfully learn the letters of the Russian alphabet
• Develop phonemic awareness by assembling letters and listening to their sounds
• Expand vocabulary with numerous new words in Russian
• Learn to read by syllables and letters
• Discover many new animals
• Reinforce reading skills through engaging quizzes
• Educational games for children in Russian for ages 5 and 6
• We don't teach children the alphabet - we teach them to read!
• Preschool education and school preparation for children aged 4 and above for free
The game interface for children is built in accordance with the Montessori educational system principle - "Help me do it myself!" It is so simple that a 3-year-old can figure it out in a minute and happily and independently learn the alphabet letters, while his happy parents can get a little break!
Learning to read has never been such an informative and interesting activity before!
This free version of the developmental game contains 4 educational levels. The full version includes all 16 educational levels, arranged by increasing difficulty of words. If the first level consists of words with 2-3 letters, the last level has words with 7-8 letters.
