UE Universals Shipping Soon!

Hey UE Pro Fam!  Everyone is getting back on the road with a hint of “AM I READY?!!” anxiety.  No worries, we got you covered because it’s time for an announcement.

Next Monday, February 26, we’re shipping the UE Universal in-ear monitors.  Designed for aspiring musicians seeking their first set of high-quality IEMs, the line consists of three models, the UE 150, UE 250, and UE 350, each offering unmatched comfort, exceptional sound quality, and durability.

Over the years, we’ve noticed a trend among our first-time customers—artists who eventually come to UE Pro for custom in-ear monitors have told us how the generic fit they’d previously used missed the mark. According to these artists, generics are often uncomfortable, fall out during performances due to a poor fit, and don’t sound very good due to low-quality drivers and a bad seal in the ear.

So, we decided it was time to shake things up. We want to give both up-and-coming musicians and seasoned pros a better backup option—a universal fit that actually fits, and sounds, well, incredible.

Most importantly, we have a huge advantage over other universal-fit in-ear monitor manufacturers: PerForm Fit design. We leveraged our library of ear scans, physical impressions, manual custom detailing, and AI technology to create our proprietary PerForm Fit design which feels great in almost any ear shape, with a comfortable and secure seal that won’t fall out on stage.

The UE Universal In-Ear Monitors are now available for pre-order. Experience the evolution of the universal fit for yourself!

So say goodbye to compromises and hello to the next level of in-ear monitoring. Your ears will thank you. Get ready for them to ship on the 26th!  Pre-Order Now.

Inside UE PREMIER: Budda Foster x Just Liv

Once two of Los Angeles’ best-kept secrets, Budda Foster and Just Liv are breaking into their own spotlights.

Budda is a highly-regarded multi-instrumentalist known for his work with Snoh Aalegra, Blackbear, Dominic Fike, Cordae, Queen Naija, The Game, and many more. He has made his living touring as a live musician since he was just 19 years old.

“Ever since then, I’ve been striving to be a multi-instrumentalist for everybody I play for,” Budda said. In fact, he’s known for “doubling” on stage, meaning he’ll play multiple instruments during a single set, often guitar and bass. “I enjoy the diversity and challenge of playing multiple instruments for a gig.”

Because he plays so many instruments, Budda used to need to cart around multiple pairs of in-ear monitors depending on the gig. But with UE PREMIER, he can have it all with a single pair of IEMs. “I used to have four pairs of in-ears in my backpack at any given time. I think that these [UE PREMIER IEMs] change the game,” Budda told us. “No matter what instrument I’m playing, it’s all going to be covered.”

UE | BOOM by Ultimate Ears

“[UE PREMIER] is very responsive to whatever changes we have, It’s really easy to be versatile.” - Budda Foster

Just Liv is a vocal powerhouse who got her start as a background singer for well-known and acclaimed performers including Willow Smith, Skip Marley and Duckwrth. She has even been featured during Kanye’s Sunday Service and has appeared on records by The Game, Snoh Aalegra and Wale.

But Just Liv knew she was destined for more. In 2019, she released her self-titled debut EP, which featured the single “Big Time,” her collaboration with Budda Foster. The song became an anthem for dreamers and go-getters who put in the work to hit the “big time” and established her as a musical force.

Just Liv’s voice is her instrument, and she relies on UE PREMIER to help keep her from over-singing, which can damage a singer’s voice and shorten their career.

Before switching to in-ear monitors, Just Liv relied on wedge monitors to hear her performances. As a result, she had to increase her own volume on stage—an unsustainable practice. “It’s innate of you to oversing, so [UE PREMIER] alleviates that necessity of oversinging and overcompensating for the volume,” Just Liv explained. “Vocally, there is just much less wear and tear.”

Vocal health and longevity isn’t the only thing Just Liv loves about UE PREMIER—she especially loves the nuance and separation made possible by its 21 drivers per side. According to Just Liv, UE PREMIER sounds “bright and present” and “spatially far more dynamic” than other IEMs. “I know it sounds so interesting for me to describe it as far as being in a room, but that’s really what it feels like. The horns are there, the bass is there. Nothing is overlapping, nothing is compact—it doesn’t feel like a vacuum.”

UE | BOOM by Ultimate Ears

“[With UE PREMIER] I’m not having to sacrifice the feeling [of wedge monitors] to be present vocally.” -Just Liv

Budda Foster and Just Liv rely on UE PREMIER to help them deliver their best performances on stage and in the studio with ease. Ready to explore a new dimension of sound? Try UE PREMIER for yourself.

The recent upgrade took a solid app and turned it into a frustrating experience. It feels like we got an unfinished product instead of a polished update. The app used to work great, but now it's clunky and unreliable. My two Boom 2 speakers keep losing their connection. Party Up was a highlight before this change. Now I find myself uninstalling and reinstalling just to fix the issues. It steals so much time—spending anywhere from half an hour to an hour just to connect my speakers. After charging them again, they still drop the Bluetooth link. I've already wasted far too many minutes trying to get them working again.

Starting a playlist with just a button is great. However, the app running in the background caused my audio to cut out all the time. I decided to force stop the app, and now the sound works perfectly. My other Bluetooth devices don’t have this problem at all, so it’s definitely an issue with the app. Such a bummer.

This app is really frustrating. I enjoy the speakers, but using the app on my Chromebook is a nightmare. It constantly asks to sync, yet both speakers are already synced. My phone works fine, but pairing the speakers for party mode takes ages. Not having access to party mode on my laptop is a major letdown. I'm feeling really upset and disappointed.

The app struggles to pair two HYPERBOOM speakers. It works occasionally but often fails. No feedback from the app makes troubleshooting impossible. UE removed the Sticky PartyUp feature without any user notification. This change complicates pairing speakers every time I want to enjoy music. The experience frustrates me, making me consider returning both speakers.

The move to force remote power really missed the mark. Ignoring customer feedback felt wrong too. I have four Booms that I used to enjoy for parties and gatherings, or just to fill my house with music while cleaning. Now, it's a different story. After they removed the ability to disable remote power, the batteries drain constantly. When I finally want to use them, they’re often dead. I didn’t charge them for so long that two of them are now permanently unusable. It’s disappointing.

The latest version of the app is terrible. Changing the volume takes me to a separate screen, which is annoying. There’s a frustrating lag between the speaker and the app when I adjust the volume. It feels like it takes forever, and when I finally turn it up, it blasts too loud. Turning it down sometimes makes it too quiet. The previous app handled this smoothly. Any advice would be great.

It's frustrating! The app only works sometimes and just stops without warning. I've been using it for a few weeks, and it seems stable when Wi-Fi is off. Every time I turn it on, the connection drops. A strong cell signal helps a lot too. If the signal is weak, the Bluetooth gets all wobbly. It feels like UltimateEars has left this app behind, ignoring everyone who relies on it.

Bought a pair of UE Boom 2 speakers for wireless stereo music. After the last update, I got hit with a request for "Location Access." Seriously? The speakers are right here, close to my device. Why does it need my location? Does UE want to track where I'm listening to music? Totally unacceptable and totally unnecessary. Plus, the app that used to connect easily to both speakers is now glitching and struggling to connect. Just disgusting.

The controls work well. The Android app is a different story, though. Turning it on creates frustration. The app takes ages to recognize the speaker connection. Changing the volume or output source feels like an eternity. My wife’s iPhone connects instantly. The difference is clear as day. This app really needs an update. It once deserved five stars, but not anymore with these problems.
