[App Access Permissions Guide]

In accordance with the Information and Communication Network Act for user protection regarding smartphone app access permissions starting from March 23, 2017, V-Guard only accesses the items necessary for the service, as detailed below:

[Mandatory Access Permissions]

• Permission to Request App Deletion (REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES): Used to perform deletion of diagnosed malicious apps.

• Internet, Wi-Fi Connection Information: Used for network connection during engine updates.

• SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW: Used to notify users of potential risks by switching to the detection screen when detecting malicious apps during real-time scanning service operation.

• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used to alert users of the operation status of the real-time scanning service.

※ Access Permission Changes

• Android 6.0 and above: Agree or withdraw consent in Settings > Apps or Applications > V-Guard for Web > Permissions selection.

• Below Android 6.0: Since individual consent for each item is not possible, mandatory access consent is obtained for all items. Therefore, it is recommended to check if your device's operating system can be upgraded to Android 6.0 or above and upgrade. However, even if the operating system is upgraded, the access permissions agreed upon in existing apps will not change. Thus, to reset access permissions, you need to uninstall the installed app and then reinstall it.
