Related Questions:
1. How is data rounding performed in the Internet Access Service?
Nuevatel applies rounding or fractioning to one kilobyte (1 KB) in the Internet Access service in all its prepaid and postpaid mobile plans nationwide, in lines that use the Internet with data volume charges. That is:
Every 1 KB for postpaid plan subscriptions including corporate and shared plans.
Every 1 KB for the browser rate per MB in A Tu Medida Plus postpaid plans.
Every 1 KB for prepaid data packages.
Every 1 KB in additional MB.
For example, if when browsing the Internet or using mobile data the user consumes 116 KB, the system will charge 116 KB.
Rounding is maintained every 50 KB for the International Roaming service.
The rounding up of every 1 MB is maintained for promotional subscriptions because the volume charge does not apply when browsing with a rate of Bs 0.
The rounding up is applied when the data session is closed, which occurs due to some action or change in the user's terminal or after 4 hours, which is the maximum time per session.
When a data session ends, the charging process is applied to all the KB used in the user's session.
2. What is the reservation of megabytes for browsing?
In each connection that the user makes to the Internet, a "data session" is started for which our systems make the reservation of 2 MB or its equivalent in Bolivianos, from the total available balance of the user. This reservation allows us, among other things, to offer a better browsing speed.
Once the session has ended, if during the time that the user has been browsing, these reservations have not been consumed in their entirety, the unconsumed amounts become available again in the user's balances.
This technical feature could temporarily affect the balances that appear when the user checks their balances, so in order to have more accurate information it is necessary to check the balances by closing the sessions or disabling the data option on the terminal equipment.
3. How are the megabyte balances in the data plans or data bags notified?
Nuevatel sends notifications via SMS warning when the megabyte balances of the contracted data plans or data bags are at levels in the order of 20 MB, 5 MB and 0 MB.
In this regard, Nuevatel informs that it is possible that due to the characteristics of mobile technology, the indicated SMS notifications may reach the user's terminal with some delay or delay, a situation that must be taken into account by the user to control their consumption.
Likewise, it is clarified that some types of terminals such as tablets or other devices do not have the SMS reception feature, so in these cases users must control their data consumption.
4. How to disable the data option on LTE terminals?
Due to the operating characteristics of 4G LTE networks, to disable the data option on an LTE cell phone (terminal), you must proceed according to the following steps:
Enter the Settings or Configuration option on the terminal.
Find the Networks or Mobile Data option, and disable LTE by choosing other options such as 2G, 3G, WCDMA, GSM or others depending on the type of terminal you have. It is necessary to disable the LTE option.
Finally, disable the Data Usage or Mobile Data option on your terminal.
By following the steps indicated, your LTE terminal will be disabled for data use, otherwise you will generate charges for access to the Internet service.
