FAQs:

When I make changes to my VIZIO device in the VIZIO App it doesn't show the changes that are happening. Is this normal?

Any time you make a change to the Display Settings, you should see the name of the setting being changed at the top of the display. If this occurs, the change is happening. If you do not see the settings name appear at the top, try the following:

-Close the app and open it again.

-Reboot the tablet or smart device by holding the power button, select the Power off option, and then power the device on again. While doing this, also power off the VIZIO device.

-If using an Android Device, go into the device settings, select Apps, then select the VIZIO App and press the Force Stop button. If it is still having the same issue, do this again and select Clear Data, this will clear all app data so you will need to re-pair the device to any Displays it may have been paired to.

-Try deleting and reinstalling the application by tapping and holding the application and then deleting the app as you would any other application. Once the application has been uninstalled, go into the Google Play Store or iOS app store and reinstall the application.

The buttons on my VIZIO App aren’t working. What do I do?

The VIZIO App allows users to control multiple VIZIO devices from on control device, tablet, or another smart device such as a phone. Select the device option at the top of the app and select then select the name of the device you are trying to control. Once you've selected a device, the buttons will likely start working.

    Purchased a new TV a while back, and setting it up was easy. Recently got the Samsung Galaxy 10 plus and managed to connect everything except for the remote control which lacks arrow buttons. Used to have the Peel remote app, but the ads were too annoying, so I won't install it on my new phone. Looking for a TV remote app that's compatible with the Galaxy S10 plus. Any suggestions?

    We got the Vizio 55" TV the day after Christmas. The TV works fine but the remote it came with has a couple of issues. The select button doesn't work unless pressed really hard. Additionally, the navigation buttons, up and down mostly, tend to skip channels. However, the remote in the app works perfectly so I use that the most. The picture quality is excellent. The sound quality is pretty good, but for the full experience, I would recommend surround sound or a sound bar. Overall, satisfied.

    Me and my boyfriend have a huge Vizio 4k TV that we adore. This app is fantastic! If he has the remote on his side of the bed, I don't need to move because I can simply use this app. I've been using it for a few months and haven't faced any problems. Everything I can do with the remote, I can also do with the app, except for the convenient Netflix, Hulu, or YouTube buttons found on the actual remote.

    I really like this app because it works so well. I tend to misplace my remote often, especially when I wake up early for work and can't find it. This app helps me a lot in those situations. The feature that allows you to instantly access any app on your screen is fantastic. I would suggest this app to anyone who is forgetful or frequently loses things.

    The recent update totally ruined this app. It seems like the makers didn't even think about the people who would be using it, or maybe they don't use it themselves. The layout is cluttered with ads. I'd rather see ads on TV than in the app. Using streaming apps on my phone is a lot easier compared to using your Vizio remote app because they have more features and control. Keep it simple. Also, I have to reconnect my sound bar every time I open the app.

    The remote's new format is way trickier than before, making it a total mess. The "down" function is really sensitive now. It would be a bit better if it matched the old one. But overall, it was much easier to use and not buggy at all in the past. My husband and I both dislike it, and we have different phones. Could you please switch it back to how it was before?

    I bought a smartcast TV, but the app hasn't been working well. Every time I open it, I lose connection to the TV and soundbar. Now, I can't get it to work at all. When I try to connect to the internet, it fails. It's easier and faster to just use the buttons on the TV than using this app.

    Vizio gave in to ad sponsorship and designed an app interface focused on ads. The app redesign is criticized for not allowing the entire screen to be used as a remote like before. Users suggest going back to the older version without ads to improve ratings.

    Looking at the other reviews, I feel fortunate. No problems after setting it up. Simple to use and pair. Reconnected smoothly after my TV update. There's a slight delay when opening the app, but it's not a big deal. It can take between 10 seconds and 1.5 minutes. Good things are worth waiting for, right?

    This app and soundbar are really frustrating. The Chromecast connection always drops and disappears. If you want to cast, forget about it. The sound and video are out of sync, making it so annoying to watch. And trying to change outputs in the app leads to a never-ending loading circle. It's seriously not fun at all.
