To add music to a clip or story, use the track catalogs from the respective sections. They already contain a lot of tracks, and there will be more over time.

If you are an artist and you want to add your track to the catalogs, contact your record label or aggregator. If you still haven’t licensed your music, you can participate in our program for support of young artists.

What are the technical requirements for publishing a clip?

• Good quality vertical rollers (no trimming or frames).

• Aspect ratio and resolution: 9:16, 1080 x 1920 pixels.

• Video length from 3 seconds to 3 minutes.

• Full HD resolution and 60 FPS frame rate are supported.

• Maximum size: 1 GB.

When uploading through the VK Clips app, the quality loss is minimal.

What are clips?

The Clips section is a feed of short vertical videos on various topics. You can find it in the fourth tab of the latest VK app.

You can only create clips on the mobile app. To do so, go to the Clips section and press the camera icon in the upper left corner. You can also go to create a clip in other sections of the app that have a camera by selecting the Clip mode.

Clips, like other content posted on VK, must comply with the VK Terms of Service. Clips that violate them will be blocked.

Why are clips not gaining views?

All videos in VK Clips are moderated after uploaded by the author. Verification by a moderator can take from several hours to a couple of weeks.

Your video will not pass moderation and will not be included in the recommendations under the following conditions:

 1. The video contains:

 – obscene words;

 – violence;

 – demonstration of the use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs and other prohibited substances;

 – propaganda of crime;

 – bullying, discrimination and incitement to hatred on any grounds;

 – jokes about excrement;

 – materials prohibited by the legislation of the Russian Federation;

 – shock content and similar materials.

2. The clip contains non-original content and mentions of other platforms.

3. Sound is used for which there is no license from the copyright holder.

4. Contains aggressive advertising. You can publish ads in VK Clips, but it is important to add them natively to the plot of the video.

How do I adjust the privacy of a clip?

By default, clips in open profiles are available to everyone. You can flexibly adjust the privacy of each clip or the entire section. To do this, in the final step of sharing a clip, scroll to Settings → Who can watch this clip. You can also uncheck Allow duets and Allow comments.

Private profiles also have privacy settings, but the choice of modes is limited: you can hide the clip from everyone, only from friends, or from selected lists and specific users. Clips posted on behalf of the community can't be hidden from viewers, but community leaders can set privacy for duets and comments.

How do I post a clip to a community?

Clips are available to any non-profit community. Communities of brands and stores will have such an opportunity in the future.

To place a clip, go to the Clips section and click Record in the bottom right corner of the screen. Shoot a video or download it from your device's gallery. Then click Next, add text, stickers, music, or other editor tools. Click Next again and select the community you want to post the video on.

Clips are moderated before they are recommended. Verification takes some time, so views do not appear immediately. If there are no views for a very long time, then the clip is not included in the recommendations.

How do I only view clips from people and communities I follow?

Your clips feed is based on posts and comments that you liked, people and communities that you follow, your favorite content formats, as well as your activity in communities and various VK sections. All this helps the algorithm select new clips that you might find interesting. The more time you spend on Clips, the better our recommendations for you will be.

If you have a private profile, only your friends can see your clips.

You can hide clips that aren’t interesting to you. To do this, while watching the clip on the app, tap the three dots icon in the lower right corner and select Not interesting.
