Vonage Home Extensions - VoIP

The Vonage VoIP phone service is now available, and it can be used anywhere you go. As a Vonage Customer, the Extensions app enables you to access your Vonage phone on your Android device. Download the app now to make and receive calls using up to two phones via Wi-Fi or 3G/4G connections.

• Enter your mobile number, Vonage VoIP phone number, and account password

General FAQ

Why would I use this service?

You can extend the value of your Vonage service by using it away from home on up to two phones. With the Extensions App for iPhones and Androids, you can make and receive calls on the go, including internationally. You can also prevent up to 50 callers from ringing your Vonage home phone and phones linked to your service by the Extensions App. With our latest feature called Boomerang, you can  intercept and return calls to up to10 international phone numbers too.

All outgoing calls that you place from the Extensions App use the same rates as your Vonage home calling plan.

All incoming calls that ring your Vonage home phone also ring the Extensions App, so you never miss a call.

If you do not have an iPhone or Android, you can link your Vonage service to any phone, such as BlackBerry, Windows and even landline phones. If you are not using the app, you can still make calls on the go for the same rate as your Vonage home service. To have incoming calls ring your linked mobile number, use our SimulRing feature. How do I use this service?

Go to the app store for your phone type, then download and set up Vonage Extensions App. See Extensions® App for iPhone® or Android™ for details on how to set up and use the app.

How many mobile phones can I use with the Extensions App?

With most calling plans, you can link up to two mobile numbers for no cost. If you are on a power user plan, you can are allowed one only at no cost.

What is Boomerang?

Using Boomerang, you can add up to 10 international phone numbers to an intercept list. When a call is received from a phone number on the list, it is intercepted by the Extensions App and the caller hears: Please hand up and I'll call you right back. The caller is not charged for the intercepted call, but within seconds, the Extensions App returns the calls and connects you with that caller.

If the location is included in your Vonage calling plan, this call is returned at no cost.

If the location is not included in your Vonage calling plan, you are charged our low international rates for the call.

Linking Guide

Link your Vonage service to your iPhone or Android phone with the Extensions App and make and receive calls from that number for the same low rates as your Vonage home phone. Link up to two mobile numbers at no cost.

NOTE: To set up the app, you need your Online Account credentials (10-digit Vonage phone number and password).

1. Open Extensions App and click Continue.

2. Mark checkbox to receive SMS messages from Vonage.

3. Enter your 10-digit mobile phone number and click Next

4. Confirm that you entered the correct phone number and click Yes.

5. Enter your Online Account credentials.

6. Accept the Terms of Service and click Next.

7. Choose to Register for Wi-Fi calling. A call is placed to the Vonage network.

8. View the tour, then start making calls and receiving calls with the app. 

Manage your linked phone numbers in Online Account in the Features & Settings section under the Mobile Devices tab.

No iPhone or Android? You can link your Vonage service to any mobile phone and make calls from that number for the same price as your Vonage home calling plan.
