VPN Proton - Secure & private internet

So, this app used to be awesome until they did the update. Now, when you want to play, you're basically doing Proton Roulette hoping to land on a good server. It's such a hassle! Sometimes the servers it selects are super slow, all over the place, and not that trustworthy. And guess what? Even after the most recent update, things haven't improved at all. In fact, now it just crashes shortly after you finally connect. It's pretty wild how quickly this app's rating plummeted from 5 stars down to just 1 star.

It took me four clicks just to locate a list of servers and their loads, all sorted by percentage. I wish there was also an option to sort them by server number. I really like using this VPN, and in my opinion, the app is even better than the one available for iOS. However, I think it could be improved with two additional features. Firstly, having a web domain feature in split tunnel mode would make it more convenient to access websites that might not work with a VPN. Secondly, a pause feature that automatically reconnects after a set time would be really helpful. Personally, I have more trust in ProtonVPN than any other provider, including NordVPN. Overall, I would give this VPN a nearly perfect rating. As for your question about the network status on your PC, it's showing "Internet access" for your regular network but not for the VPN connection because the VPN is creating a secure, encrypted connection which may display differently from the regular network status.

I can't access certain servers anymore with the new free plan. Many of the free servers don't connect properly for me, and I used to switch them manually until I could get a connection. Now that feature has been removed, so this app is useless to me because I have to pay for basic functions. It was my go-to VPN app for my phone before, but now it's no different from the ones I uninstalled in recent years.

So, this VPN I've been using is really top-notch at the moment. It provides solid encryption and allows you free access to three servers. The only thing is, the server location may not always match what they say it is. Like, when I tried connecting to Tokyo, but the IP address showed up as being in Osaka. Even so, the service offers different IPs for the same location, making it one of the best options among free VPNs with strong security features. I'd rate it 5 out of 5, because while it's not flawless, it certainly gets the job done well.
