Wahl-O-Mat - Trivia & Elections Matching

The Wahl-O-Mat for the state election in Saxony will be available from around noon on July 31, the Wahl-O-Mat for the state election in Thuringia from the afternoon of August 6, and the Wahl-O-Mat for the state election in Brandenburg from around noon on August 26.

Wahl-O-Mat

The Wahl-O-Mat is a question-and-answer tool that shows which party eligible for election is closest to your own political position. 38 political statements can be answered with "agree", "disagree", "neutral", or "skip this statement". All parties eligible for election are invited to participate in the Wahl-O-Mat. In this way, you can compare your own answers with those of the parties. The Wahl-O-Mat is not a voting recommendation but an information service about elections and politics.

Your Wahl-O-Mat Result

The Wahl-O-Mat calculates the degree of personal alignment with the selected parties. By clicking on the party names, you can find short descriptions of all parties. Clicking on "More information about the party" will take you to a scientific short profile of each party.

Analyze Your Result:

- Under "Tuning", you can adjust your positions and weighting and observe directly how your changes affect your result.

- In the "Party Comparison" section, you can see at a glance where selected parties agree or contradict on particular statements.

- Under "Reasoning for the Statements", the positions and justifications of all parties are listed by statement. The parties are arranged and displayed based on their responses (agree, neutral, disagree).

- In the "Standpoints" section, you will find all positions and justifications of a party on all 38 statements at a glance. Simply select them from among all eligible parties.

Accessibility

The Wahl-O-Mat has been designed to be accessible. Additionally, it offers the following functions accessible through the corresponding symbols at the lower right corner:

- Read-aloud function: Once activated, you can listen to the text on the respective page. You can pause and resume the read-aloud function, mute it, or skip to the previous or next read-aloud text using the controls.

- Sign language: Clicking on the symbol opens a video providing information on the respective page in German Sign Language. On the homepage, you will receive general information about the Wahl-O-Mat; the statements section introduces the respective statement, and after the statements, you will get an explanation of the options on that page.

- Easy language: Here you will find general information about the Wahl-O-Mat and its functionalities in easy language.
