Easily waking up computers from your phone/tablet!
*To operate this app, ensure that your computer and network support Wake On Lan/WOL.*
Switch on a computer remotely using the WoL protocol
The main function of this app is to allow us to wake up any computer whenever we need to without requiring to have it switched on all the time, helping us to save energy and giving its components a longer usage life.
WoL for Android is easy to use and to begin with, we only need to find the computers on our network. From there on, we can add them to the list of computers to be managed and easily apply any of the actions available from the control panel.
In other words, if you need to access a PC to work with it over a virtual desktop due to any reason such as accessing a server that you've previously configured, you'll be able to do so with this app.
Not only does this protocol work when our PC is suspended but also in hibernation or even with its power off. However, to be able to use this function we need to configure the computer's BIOS to allow it to be switched on remotely.
Automation
Automate waking up your computers by sending an intent broadcast from apps like Llama and Tasker!
The latest version now supports Tasker plugins, making it even simpler to automatically wake devices.
Instructions on how to do this can be found in the app's latest version under the help section.
Quick Feature List
* Groups
* Network Search (Find devices on your network and add them to your list without the need for MAC addresses)
* One-touch wakeup widget for both devices and groups (A widget with online status coming soon)
* Tasker plugin
* Intent Broadcast support (Refer to app help section for details)
* CSV Import/Export - Easily share your list of devices
* Material Design (Accepting suggestions)
* Auto-Refreshing Device Online Status (Using ports and ping)
* Supports Wake On Lan(WoL) and Wake On Wan(WoW)
* SecureOn
For WoW, set the broadcast address as the remote IP address of the device. Extra setup may be required on the remote network to ensure wakeup packets arrive.
Waking up a device connected via WiFi may not work; WOL is most effective over an ethernet connection. Some devices like laptops may not support WOL well or at all. It may only work in sleep mode for some, while others allow powering on when off.
