How to use live wallpaper on your mobile

Wallpaper Engine is a customization app for Android devices that allows us to apply animated and customized wallpaper. In fact, we will be able to use GIFs, videos, or animated photos and customize them as we please.

The APK file download features various pre-designed wallpapers with a range of themes, such as a cool pixel-art picture of a dinosaur, a galaxy, and a DNA fragment. All of them are interactive, but the best part is that we can change every detail as we please in the menu at the bottom.

Wallpaper Engine is optimized for performance by design, and allows you to customize its impact on performance. Most wallpapers will not have any noticeable effect on most computers, but performance will depend on the complexity of the specific wallpaper.

You can configure Wallpaper Engine to pause or completely disable wallpapers when you are playing games (or generally using any fullscreen/borderless fullscreen applications). All performance settings can be found in the Performance tab of the Wallpaper Engine settings.

2.Are there any charges for wallpapers?

All wallpapers in Wallpaper Engine are free, there are no hidden costs. We use terms like "subscription wallpapers" because all wallpapers are available for free subscription on the Steam Workshop.

This means that Steam will remember all wallpapers you're interested in and automatically re-download them if you reinstall Wallpaper Engine.

3.Does Wallpaper Engine require Steam to run?

No. Steam is only required to download new wallpapers, upload wallpapers and install updates, but all core features of Wallpaper Engine work without Steam running in the background.

4.Can I install on multiple computers?

Yes, you can run on multiple computers. Keep in mind that Steam will always sync all wallpapers across all computers unless you rely solely on local backups.

    It's great - looks nice, easy to set up, and functions perfectly. I hope they'll add a feature in the future allowing one big wallpaper across multiple panels for a better display instead of just a small section when swiping. Still, it's early days.

    The scrolling on the home screen is slow and the motion of the device doesn't stop at the edge of the wallpaper like I want. The app is good but needs more optimization for phones. Also, it would be helpful to have a search function in the workshop for phone-friendly wallpapers. It's tough to find ones that fit the screen well.

    I've been eagerly anticipating this app for a while now. It has a lot of room for improvements, but currently, it's great. The balance between high and balanced mode is a bit off, and the connection between the desktop and mobile app can be unstable. Nonetheless, it's a pleasant experience that deserves 5 stars.     You already know what you're getting into if you use wallpaper engine on steam. If you don't, I suggest downloading it and giving it a try because it's great. There's seamless connection to the desktop app and all the workshop wallpapers that you have subscribed to. Also, no ads. The developers absolutely outdid themselves this time.

    It's alright, missing some features but it's fine. They can make the app better in the future. It would be better if the app could run in the background instead of having to keep it open. There's no audio, which is okay, but having an option to choose would be good. A zoom feature to adjust the cover size would also be nice because it zooms in too much. Overall, they did a good job.

    It's good, but there are a couple of issues. Firstly, the video wallpaper doesn't have sound. Secondly, it should offer the choice to save wallpaper files on SD cards in addition to the internal device storage. Just like how the Audible app allows users to save audiobooks and podcasts on external memory instead of using up space on the 8 to 16 GB of built-in device memory.

    I find the app easy to use and everything works fine. I don't see any ads. They could add sound to wallpapers for phones like they do for PCs instead of just moving images.

    The app has been working perfectly for years! But now, it suddenly crashes when I try to change the duration timer for the wallpaper playlist on my Pixel 7 Pro. It would be awesome if this app could expand to Android wearables and Android TV. The developers have done a great job with low power usage, so it might be a cool challenge. Protecting OLED screens in a stylish way... Thanks for your hard work!

    You like moving Wallpapers and it used to work well. But now, the App won't open. Even after restarting my phone, it auto starts but then crashes when I try to open it. The wallpaper stops working. I uninstalled and reinstalled it once, and it worked. But the issue came back. It would be great if you could fix this. (Android 10, Huawei P20)
