WEBTOON - Comic strip reader

I can't read on the browser anymore and it's a terrible decision by the company. I prefer reading comics on a bigger screen and it's part of my routine to read on my PC. Artists are fighting back against unfair practices, now it's our turn. If possible, I would give this app 0 stars. The user experience is awful.

I really like this platform, especially since they added the treasure chest feature for completing offers. It has a lot of options to read, with separate sections for fine-tuned webtoons called Originals and user-created ones called Canvas. There are some hidden gems in the Canvas section. Unlocking episodes is straightforward, and I appreciate the warnings and censorship. The app works smoothly and is one of my main reading platforms.

I really like this app because it works smoothly on older devices and lets you read any genre without any interruptions. I haven't encountered any ads while scrolling through different genres like thrillers, romance, or action. It's great that they have content suitable for younger readers as well. The app even provides trigger warnings which is helpful. In short, I find this app awesome and hope you will too!

I used to have no problem finding my unread series when I was reading, but now it's getting difficult. There are so many series that require watching ads to unlock the next episode, and my unread ones are getting lost among them. I can't seem to find a setting to hide these series or move them to a different section. This means I have to watch a ton of ads just to locate my unread series, which is quite inconvenient.

I really like this app a lot, but I only rated it with 3 stars. There is an issue where I only get 2 ads instead of 3 when reading around 9 PM, and it's quite bothersome. This happens frequently and it can be annoying. Also, sometimes I have to watch the ads 5 to 6 times just to read one chapter in a story with ads. It would be great if this issue could be fixed as it is quite frustrating.

The app is great. I always searched for manhwa (I can never remember if it's manhua) on my browser, but when I checked the app for the full chapter, I was pleasantly surprised. I might sound like those bots promoting apps, but it truly impressed me. I suggest using the app over the browser. Also, there's a neat feature that allows continuous scrolling instead of clicking buttons for the next chapter.

I enjoy reading most of the comics, especially seeing authors expand their worlds and creativity. But Webtoon is becoming too controlling. I used to love it, but now I have problems. The daily pass system, changing coin amounts for fast passes, too many unblockable ads, recommendations after finishing a comic, and worst of all, how Webtoon offers to help artists make their work original only to cancel the offer later without letting anyone say anything.
