Game review from player's perspective: West Escape
In the vast ocean of games, there are occasionally some eye-catching works. West Escape is such a game. Although its core gameplay is simple, it can immerse people in it and enjoy the fun of resource collection and upgrading. As an ordinary player, I have some thoughts to share after experiencing this game.
As soon as we enter the game, there is almost no guidance. We are thrown directly into the game world. There is no title interface and no opening animation. It is a completely "actual combat" way to get started. This design makes people a little confused at first, but as the exploration deepens, they can quickly understand the basic game mechanism.
The main gameplay of the game revolves around resource collection and tool upgrades. You need to obtain resources by destroying various items in the scene (such as beds, trash cans, cacti, and even some strange creatures). Then, use these resources to continuously strengthen your tools in order to destroy more advanced obstacles and unlock new areas.
It is worth mentioning that the upgrade system in the game is very important. For example, in order to destroy certain specific obstacles, your tools must reach a certain level. Therefore, players need to constantly collect materials and upgrade tools to advance the game. Although this cyclical gameplay is a bit repetitive, it is still fun for players who like to collect and manage resources.
From the perspective of the theme, the game is set in a desolate western world, but it incorporates science fiction elements, such as mysterious alien creatures and abandoned mechanical structures. This setting reminds people of the mixed style of "cowboys and aliens", which has both the tough feeling of western cowboys and a bit of mysterious science fiction.
Although the game has no lines and dialogues, the scene interaction and task objectives themselves can guide players to gradually understand the background of the story. For example, players need to find a certain character while facing the threat of alien creatures. During the exploration process, they constantly repair the dilapidated environment, giving people a feeling of rebuilding a western town.
Although the game's graphics are not amazing, the overall style is unique. The graphics are simple, and the character and scene designs are relatively cartoon-like, which is suitable for players who like a relaxed and casual style. In addition, the game runs very smoothly, and the feedback of destroying items is also very good. The moment of breaking items always gives people a sense of decompression.
