1. Turn off the notifications that appear on the XING app icon

Answer

You can deactivate push notifications in the settings of your XING iOS app. This means you will also stop notifications from appearing on the app icon that signalise e.g. that you have new messages or a contact has a birthday. You can also deactivate these via your iOS settings:

    1. Select Settings on the home screen of your iPhone or iPad.

    2. Scroll down to the XING app in the left column and select it.

    3. Press Notifications.

    4. Now deactivate the Badges option (wording may differ depending on your iOS version).

2. Why doesn’t a link in an e-mail from XING open in the XING app?

Answer

If you want your iPhone / iPad to automatically open a link to XING (e.g. from an e-mail) in the XING app, please do the following:

    1. Press the link and keep your finger pressed down on it.

    2. Select "Open in XING app" in the window that appears.

3. Manage push notifications in the XING app

Answer

You can control in your XING settings whether or not you want to receive push notifications for things such as when you receive a new message or contact request.

    First open the XING app. 

    In the top left corner you will see your profile picture, tap it once.  

    Go to Settings and then on XING Settings.  

    Now select Notifications and then Push Notifications.  

    Activate the options you wish to be notified about. 

You can then close your settings by touching the arrow symbol in the top left corner again. Your changes will be automatically saved. 

4. How can I fix problems I'm having with the Android app?

Answer

If the XING app doesn't work as expected, you should usually be able to fix that by:

    logging out and in again.

    reinstalling the app (uninstall it and download it again from Google Play.

    which Android device you’re using

    which Android operation system version you're using

    which version of the app you’re using

You should inform us too whether or not your device has been rooted (if you don't know what this means, then your device will most probably not have been rooted
