Xoom is a PayPal service that allows you to send money to your friends and family around the world. When using Xoom, you’ll be able to:

send money to a recipient’s bank account, debit card, or mobile wallet

How much money can I send, and how can I raise my sending limits?

You can send money with Xoom at up to three levels based on where you live, how the money is delivered to your contact, and our payment partners' limits. 

When you send an amount higher than your current sending level, we'll ask questions during your transaction using secure online forms. However, we'll email you with instructions if more information is needed. 

The following table shows the sending limits based on the country you live and what we may ask to raise your limit. When using a currency other than the one listed for your country or region, the limit will be an equivalent amount based on our exchange rate at the time.  

What are the fees to use Xoom?

On Xoom, fees vary depending on: 

Transaction type 

Your payment method and what currency you pay with   

The amount of the transaction 

Which country the transaction is going to  

Which currency you select for the other person to receive  

Can I cancel a transaction?

You can typically cancel a transaction if the money has not yet reached your recipient. As most reload and bill payments are completed within minutes, you usually can’t cancel these types of transactions once they’re authorized.  

To cancel a transaction: 

Open your Activity List

Select the transaction you wish to cancel

Click the Cancel icon and confirm the action on the pop-up window

The Cancel icon will not appear if that transaction is already completed or if we can’t reverse the funds. In this case, you’ll receive a confirmation of the completed transaction via email.

    Xoom canceled my first transaction, even though I submitted all the necessary documentation and answered all security questions. They claimed their "system" still didn't lift the restrictions. In the end, they suggested that I try another service, as if they were avoiding dealing with me and treated me suspiciously.

    The customer service was so frustrating. There was this transaction status that stayed the same for days, but when I contacted them, they acted like I should have understood it already. The verification process was so long and they even asked me to send my license. I got fed up and told them to cancel everything. I think I'll just delete the app now. Wishing you a better experience.

    First time using it was quick and I was happy with it. Did a bigger transfer next, and it took forever for my mom to get the money! They keep your money for as long as possible. Terrible money transfer app! Sent money on September 15, bank debited the same day, and it's now September 21, but my mom still hasn't gotten the money! This is my second and final transfer with all details unchanged.

    I don't like these people at all. Every time I want to send money, they either keep my funds for a security check or just cancel my transaction without telling me why. It's really annoying that I have to spend over an hour on the phone to fix this. You should try another company to save time and frustration. The other companies also have better rates.

    Had a terrible experience using that service. Thought it would be easy, but it wasn't. Used my credit card for a transaction, then they stopped it and told me to contact support. Did I get any help from the call? No! Even after verifying everything and waiting on hold several times, they still want me to send more proof and documents. I'm switching back to Western Union.

    I have been using this service for a long time but recently it has become quite frustrating. It constantly asks for the transaction purpose and bank verification. The transfers now can take a long time, unlike before when they were quick and reliable. I think it's time for me to start exploring other options.
