Troubleshooting the application

The application does not open or closes after any actions

1. Update the app to the latest version.

2. If your device is Android, check if your device has enough RAM. If the RAM is low, close other applications.

If the suggested actions did not help, write to  the support service .

The application does not install or update

Check if your device meets the technical requirements for the application. If your device meets the requirements, but you cannot install or update the application, write to  the support service.

The application is pre-installed on the device and cannot be removed.

Some manufacturers pre-install the Yandex Maps app on phones by default. The pre-installed app cannot be completely removed, but it can be disabled. In this case, the app will not launch, update, or use your data.

If you have a Samsung phone, you can disable the Yandex Maps application according to  the instructions .

The app doesn't rebuild the route well and the arrow twitches

The app may freeze if the location is not detected or is detected incorrectly. Follow the recommendations in the Location is not detected section .

If the suggested actions did not help, write to  the support service .

The application freezes and works slowly

Your device may be outdated or lacking RAM.

To increase the speed of the application, try the following:

1. In the Yandex Maps app, turn off layers: click the button and turn off Traffic , Parking and  Panoramas .

2. Close other applications on your device.

You can also use Yandex Maps in your mobile browser.

How to open links from the Yandex Maps application in a browser

By default, all links open in the Maps app. If you have an Android device, you can open links from the app in the browser. To do this:

1. Open your device settings.

2. Go to Applications  → All applications .

3. Click  in the top right corner, select Default apps .

4. Click Open Links .

5. Find Yandex Maps and in the Open supported links section , select Always ask .

I have a Samsung device

1. Open your device settings.

2. Go to the Applications section .

3. Find and select Yandex Maps .

4. Select Use as default .

5. Enable the Open supported links option .

6. Select Always ask or In another app .

Maps, traffic jams, routes are not loading

The app is having internet issues. Please follow these steps:

   - check your internet connection;

   - check location definition;

   - disable VPN;

   - Disable your antivirus software or any ad blockers.
