Game Objective
The objective of Yatzy - Fun Classic Dice Game is to score maximum points by rolling five dice and making specific combinations. The game can be played alone or with up to six players. The playing field consists of a scorecard with 15 categories and a total of 13 rounds. At the end of each round, the player must make a decision and select which category to write their score under, based on the combinations they managed to achieve with their given dice roll.
Starting the Game: Choosing the Game Mode
Yatzy - Dice Game offers two modes of play: single-player and multiplayer. To play a single game, tap on the 'Single Play' option on the main menu. To play with your friends, tap on 'Multiplayer'. When you select the multiplayer option, you'll have two choices: 'Pass and Play' or 'Online Play'.
Pass and Play Mode:
In this mode, the device is passed around from player to player. The players take turns rolling the dice and recording their score on the scorecard. This mode is great for playing with family and friends in the same room.
Online Play Mode:
This mode lets you play with other players online. Tap on 'Online Play' and choose to either 'Create Game' or 'Join a Game'. In 'Create Game', a room can be created by selecting the number of players (2-6) and player names before starting the game. In 'Join a Game', players can enter a room by entering the room code provided by the host player.
Playing the Game: Making Combinations
Once you have selected the game mode and entered your name, you are now ready to start the game. The game starts with the first player rolling the dice. You can roll the dice up to three times and save any dice you want by holding a finger on them. When you have completed your turn, tap on the category that you want to score your dice combination under.
There are 15 categories to choose from, including upper section consisting of 6 categories - Ones, Twos, Threes, Fours, Fives, and Sixes - and lower section consisting of 9 categories - Three of a Kind, Four of a Kind, Full House, Small Straight, Large Straight, Yatzy, Chance, and Bonus. Each category has its own unique scoring scheme and objective.
Upper Section:
Upper section categories are scored by calculating the sum of dice with the same number. For example, if you roll three dice with the number five, the score for Fives will be 15 (3*5).
Lower Section:
Lower section categories have more complex scoring rules. For example, if you roll four dice with number one and one dice with number two, you can score it either as Four of a Kind or Full House. Four of a Kind requires at least four dice with the same number and scores the sum of all dice, while Full House requires three dice with the same number and two dice with another number and scores 25 points.
Yatzy:
Yatzy is when all five dice have the same number and is the highest scoring category. It scores 50 points and can only be scored once per game.
Bonus:
Bonus is an extra 35 points in the upper section if the player has scored at least 63 points. This bonus applies to the sum of the upper section categories.
End of Game: Final Scores and Results
The game finishes after all players have played 13 rounds and scored their combinations on the scorecard. The final scores are calculated by adding up the points from each category. The player with the highest score wins the game. The scores are then recorded and can be compared with previous games to track progress.
