Your Texas Benefits is a digital service of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) that makes information on Texas health insurance benefits, open enrollment and renewals accessible to help you better understand your coverage. 

It provides the details for open enrollment and renewal periods. The information can be found by entering your phone number and zip code on the website, clicking on "Contact us," then selecting "Other inquiries."

Your Texas Benefits app was created to help the public use the app and the website to track their benefits and view open enrollment and renewal periods.

This extension allows you to access the Your Texas Benefits app. 

The Your Texas Benefits app is designed for Texans who have applied for or receive the following benefits:

• SNAP food benefits

• TANF cash assistance

• Health care benefits (including Medicare Savings Program and Medicaid)

Manage and monitor your cases conveniently from your phone at any time.

Utilize the app to submit required documents to us.

Receive notifications, such as when it's time to renew your benefits.

Oversee your Lone Star Card.

You can also report any changes to your cases and locate an office nearby.

To begin, create a Your Texas Benefits account (if you haven't already).

Once your account is set up, you will have access to the following features:

View your cases:

• Check your benefit status.

• See details of your benefits.

• Determine if it's time to renew your benefits.

Manage account settings:

• Change your password.

• Opt-in for paperless options to receive notices and forms through the app.

Submit documents:

• Attach photos of required documents or forms and send them directly to us.

Receive alerts and review case history:

• Read messages regarding your cases.

• View documents that you've submitted via the website or app.

• Review any changes you've reported.

Report updates on:

• Phone numbers

• Home and mailing addresses

• Individuals on your cases

    I don't like getting text notifications at 3am, 4:30am, and 5:45am. It's really annoying because those messages always come super early in the morning. I can't turn off the notifications because of renewals, but there should be an option for that. The website should be easier to navigate, especially on the app. When I try to read a message, it takes me to my letters but I can't click on anything. It took me a while to finally get to the message.

    The app has lots of bugs. I can't send files because of system errors. It would be more helpful if everything worked smoothly. It would also help if the error codes were clearer so that support could easily identify and fix the issues causing the system to malfunction.

    The app got upgraded making it easier. But, when uploading documents, you have to do them one by one. You can't select multiple images from the gallery or photos. It's improved from before but could still be better. And now with the recent update, you can copy and send up to 10 images at once. That's a great improvement! Thank you!

    The app is causing many issues for me. The Message Center is not functioning correctly and fails to show all messages. It's important to have a method to remove old and unimportant case details since it becomes challenging to locate current information in a lengthy list of outdated items. All components of my case should have the same renewal date instead of being spread out over several months; it's difficult to manage renewing everything in this manner. Having the system automatically sync all information to the same date would be highly beneficial.

    Two occasions, uploaded files using the app. Made a call to confirm files reached them, they insisted "no files". Benefits got canceled due to app malfunction last year. I could see files on my side of the app, they couldn't on theirs. Reached out last year, no help. Their stance was basically "tough luck", not their problem if files don't go through. Advised me to physically deliver files if I wanted assurance of receipt.

    You're welcome! I'm glad I could assist you with uploading your documents and getting the app running smoothly. Just a tip: if you ever get locked out, avoid logging in from your phone after receiving a temporary password, as it may cause another lockout. Instead, try unlocking it from a computer first and then you can log back in from your phone. This method worked for me, so I thought I'd share it with you. Thanks!

    You know, overall the experience was pretty good. If there was one thing I'd adjust, it would be the process of uploading multiple files. It would be more convenient if you could upload all 7 or 8 files at once for each section instead of going back and forth, which ended up making the app slow and prompting me to try again later. Thankfully, on my second attempt, the files uploaded after I took photos of the documents. The feature to take a photo wasn't working smoothly, but that might have been due to something I did.

    So, I'm having trouble verifying my account through phone or email. Every time I try to input the verification number, it gives me a system error. I can't even access help or my case. The nearest town is 46 miles away from where I live, and when I call 211 for help, they just keep telling me to use the faulty app. It's really inconvenient because it requires so much information that I can't even upload. And the wait time for a response is just frustrating. I don't understand why it would take 30 days to approve something like food stamps.
