YouVersion Bible App + Audio - Read & listen Bible

This app is great because of the audio feature. It would be wonderful if all the content had audio in various speech styles. It would also be helpful if I could select a specific verse and listen to it without having to listen to the entire chapter. It would be nice to have different colored bookmarks and a variety of display settings. Being able to choose different voices for the audio, as well as print fonts, sizes, and colors, including font and background colors, would be fantastic. Improved organization would also be appreciated for us blind users.

The app is really slow. It takes forever to load anything, and it crashes a lot. When I try to use the narrator, it takes ages to start talking. At first, I thought it was broken. But then I realized that the chapter time was showing 0:00 before it finally loaded the correct time. This app used to be good, but it keeps getting worse with each update.

The new app update is trying to be helpful, but it's actually harder to use now. I used to see the last 5 bibles I read, but that's gone. Now, I have to scroll through a random list of downloaded versions to find a new one before I can even see the list of bibles. It's really annoying! Can we have the old version back, please? Stop changing things that were fine before. Thank you!

Submitted review in October, not much fixed. New update is bad. Header covers scripture lines, narration skips chapters, turning phone loses words, refreshing frame doesn't help. Have to go back and restart chapter to get Word content back.

Feeling frustrated because the app has been glitchy lately. The daily scripture doesn't load and the Bible rarely loads when selected. Even if it loads, it keeps switching versions instead of staying on NKJV like I want. Hope they can fix this soon.

This app is great for me because I have dyslexia. It reads the text out loud, so I can follow along easily. I also use it to check for mistakes by reading the text myself first, then having it read back to me. The bible has some difficult words, especially names of people from the past. Since I have a busy life, this app helps me stay connected to my faith. I appreciate that it offers various plans and versions of the bible. Overall, it's a very helpful app!

There are now more animations and videos than reading materials. Text overlaps with the on-screen bar. It's hard to access scriptures directly. The home page is filled with non-essential content. The menus appear and vanish as you scroll. The screen goes black unexpectedly. Frequent prompts to download texts for offline use.

So, in the part where you talk it over in the daily plans, the text box is small and doesn't move with your typing. This only started after the latest update. It's annoying because if you make a mistake, you have to scroll all the way down to correct it. Please change it back to how it was before when it followed your typing. And on top of that, it doesn't let you edit, which is really frustrating.

A new glitch is messing up my reading plans by showing wrong numbers of missed days (I actually have around 9 but it keeps changing). I've tried everything – marked off completed days, deleted and reinstalled the app, signed in and out, but nothing fixes it. Luckily, I've been following my paper plan and marking off completed days there, otherwise I wouldn't remember my almost 9 months of Bible reading! 😅
